I literally went to Kouign Amann right after Kof Kelsen (talk about pastries overload). And I was blown away by the fact that such a gem is only a few meters away from Kof Kelsen!
Funnily, going to Hof Kelsen, I wallked by Kouign Amann and smelled the incredible butter expelling from the shop. I was so intrigued, but just shrugged and walked away. Until my blogger friends told me that Kouign Amann serves some of the best croissants in Montreal and that is super close to Hof Kelsen and that was when I found out that butter smelling shop was Kouign Amann!
And I’m going to say it, Kouign Amann’s pastries are better than Hof Kelsen! I especially love their pastries called after the shop name, Kouign Amann. It is a must order and that is exactly how you fall in love with them. They are like a hybrid of Portuguese egg tart and creme brule, but layered and denser.
Don’t be like me living under a rock, go to Kouign Amann when you are around the area!
If only I took more convincing pictures…Obviously, I was in a rush to taste the pastries and just quickly wiped out my cellphone and snatched a shot before going back to my indulgence.
