Le Red Tiger: So fierce

Le Red Tiger: So fierce

Le Red Tiger is slowly making its way to a must go restaurant. Situated in an unconventional neighborhood, its fierceness cannot go unnoticed. It charmed me right away.

Coming to Le Red Tiger, ordering drinks is a must. They do not cheapen the volume of alcohol. Needless to say, Mr.Butter and I had an effect quickly.

Old Fashioned and Pho-Jito

Pho-Jito is definitely a must. It’s a nice play on mojito with a Viet twist, which is basically added bean spouts and red chili! Break the red chili apart and stir it in the drinks result a hint of spicy mojito. It’s spot on.

The papaya salad is served in a plastic bag. The purpose of this is to personalize of level of spiciness in the salad by adding as much chili pepper as desired and then shake it well. It’s a novelty, but after a few times, I think I might become annoyed of the extra steps before I can dive right into the meal.

Once shaken, this is how the salad looks like. One word, tangy. I love it. It is perfect for the summer.

At the sight of these clams, I was disappointed by the quantity of clams. I actually count how many are there in this picture. We can count with our 10 fingers. There are exactly 10 clams. What… Yes they are delicious. The lemongrass really uplifts the coconut flavors, but I can’t justify the price for 10 little clams. The waiter suggested us to order a bowl of rice, so we could mix the sauce with the rice. It was a great idea, but look at the amount of sauce on the dish! I doubt it would be enough for a bowl of rice…

These beef roll skews are incredible. Nicely marinated, they bring out sweetness, but in moderation. Again, I was a bit upset that was only one skew with 4 rolls. I think 2 skews seem more reasonable.

Because we were eating at the counter, it was impossible to deviate our vision from the kitchen action. We were intrigued by the mini Vietnamese pancakes, so we thought we should order it especially after 3 dishes, we were still famished.

They are cute little pancakes shape like tarts. This is my first time trying something like this, so I do not know how they are suppose to be. But I personally think that the pancakes would be tastier if they left on the stove longer, enabling a thin crust to form which results a crunchy texture.

Le Red Tiger offers interesting dishes in the size of tapas. So do expect that you need to order at least 3-4 dishes before your hunger is tamed. This could lead to a pricier meal than expected. Beware of sitting at the counter, quite a trap for the curious ones. Disregarding the amount of food that was actually served, I wholly enjoyed the quality of the food and the vibe emitting by the eatery.
