Mandy’s: A salad like no other

Mandy’s: A salad like no other

It’s winter and what am I thinking about to be reviewing a salad place? Because it’s always a good time to have Mandy’s salad.

My colleague (or former one, now a great friend), was crazy about Mandy’s. She always wanted to have salad on Friday preaching how they make the best salads. She was always looking forward to Friday. It was her little treat, like a pat on her shoulder that she did well during the whole week. A treat? Yes. Because they are a bit pricey. Do not walk away just yet. The price is well justified, just hear me out.

So, of course, I was curious, so I decided to go with her on a Friday. (This was back in September). Wow. There was a huge line up. Tips from my then colleague “If you already know what salad you want, just call and order. Then you don’t need to wait in line to order, there’s a special line to pick up your order.” It’s an important tip. That day, we didn’t order through the phone, because of course, I had to experience the whole Mandy’s frenzy. The whole process took more or less 30 minutes before we got out salad to go.

So yes, my first experience at Mandy’s was a take-out. And I looked at the plastic container where my salad was stuffed in. My head went “so, I just paid 15$ for this salad. It better be good and fill me up”. So I ate and ate, and ate some more. The container seemed bottomless! The salad kept flowing onto my fork! It was like as if my salad was stuffed into a magic hat!

My next 2 experiences were the same! The salad was served in some of the prettiest bowl. And the salad keeps popping back up! And your stomach filled quicker than the salad disappearing from the bowl. Even with a full stomach, the salad did not become any less boring to eat. Every bite was just as satisfying as the first! It is completely the opposite of pasta, the first bite of pasta is so good, and then you become fuller and fuller, and you start to hate on yourself because you consumed too much carbs, and your energy is at low, and every bite is definitely less appealing than the one before. With Mandy’s salad, I feel energetic and good. My heart just impatiently waits for the next time so I can have another bowl.

This is why Mandy’s salad is unlike any other. Mandy’s changes your view on salads. So, when are we heading to Mandy’s and have some guilt-free treat? 😀
