To think my last cabane a sucre is at least 15 years ago is quite ridiculous! It is about time that I go to one.
So, when a friend presented the idea, I jumped right in.
Les Affames re-invented the traditional menu of sugar shack and it is served at Erabliere Shefford from the Eastern Townships. The menu is a nice twist. A little bit of traditional element still remains, but heightened by upscale ingredients such as baked beans with lamb.
At 39$ per person, you are getting a fair share of food, enough for the whole day. It is separated in 3 courses and each course has at least 5 kinds of food. To say the least, you won’t feel ripped off.
The service is slow, a bit too slow. So having an empty stomach before going is a bad idea. Maybe it is about the whole experience of enjoying time with family and friends so they purposely serve slowly. Other than that, coffee is constantly filled at no cost.
Overall, the experience is good. It is a nice play on traditional sugar shack if the regular good has become ordinary for you. It is always a nice reason to get out of the city and be flabbergasted by the beautiful homes along the way to Erabliere Shefford.
