Whenever someone says “Nos Thes”, it is bound that someone mistakes it as an Italian.
Nos thes first started on St-Mathieu, where it was known to brew their own tea for bubble tea. Fast forward, now there are a few locations of Nos Thes and they serve food as well, specialising on Taiwanese food. Being a big fan of homemade noodles, I couldn’t wait to try their homemade noodle.
I went to their Ste-Catherine location and I was amazed how it has fully grown to a full-fledged restaurant. It seems like their tea business is just an extra.
I really enjoyed their braised beef noodles. The noodles were large and perfectly cooked. The texture defined everything. At 10$, this noodle is undeniably a great deal.
The other dishes we ordered from the table. I didn’t taste all of them, but I did taste the rice version of the braised beef noodles. Let just say, you should just order the braised beef noodles instead unless you cannot have a meal without rice. I also tried the Taiwanese fried sweet potatoes, which were really not all that. I rather eat my own baked sweet potatoes.
The green bean bubble tea was great, but nothing outstanding even thought it is favorite of Nos Thes.
Nos Thes is a great reminiscent of “ha mm cha” (Cantonese), which stands for afternoon meal (between lunch and dinner), where you grab a quick meal and chat away with friends.
