It was my first experience with pupusas (Salvadorian cuisine). When I first stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with the nice host/waiter. Since I told him it was my first time at the restaurant (and the menu was basically all in spanish…), he was very patient and thorough at explaining the menu.
Funny thing, we had to use Urbanspoon to locate the restaurant, so Mr.Butter had the page on on his Iphone when we were at the table. We thought it may be because that the host saw the screen that he was so friendly.
So friendly that he offered us nachos while we waited for our food.
I regret not bringing a proper camera….My phone camera really doesn’t give the food much justice. We ordered 4 different kinds of flavors. My favorite one has to be the cheese one 🙂
I have mentioned a while ago that I’m not very fond of all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant. There are various reasons. Whenever I see “all you can eat”, my mind shifts to “must make my $$$ worth it!”. so i would simply stuff myself as much as possible…instead of enjoying every bite. Plus, in the end, the amount I ate is similar to A la carte… A la carte just serves much better quality…
Anyway…my firm was celebrating the end of tax season (yes…this was a while ago. I’m so behind…) and decided to go to Yang’s.
If I didn’t go to Toronto the last weekend, I may have a different opinion of Yang’s. But Toronto’s experience totally changed my view of Yang’s.
At first, I really wasn’t impressed with Yang’s….their sushi was mediocre. Much of their other non-sushi dishes were too oily. However, their steak was surprisingly very delicious.
However…after my Toronto trip, I realized that Yang’s do offer a great varieties of sushis and other meals. and how much better they tasted than Toronto. Therefore, it sort of really skewed my opinion of Yang’s now.
As a All you can eat sushi place, I think Yang’s is really not bad… But like I said…quality over quantity.
I was only able to capture 10% of what we ordered… we were all hungry beasts at that time, and honestly devour every plate served to our table…
I’ll keep it simple. I wanna go back to Le Gros Jambon. I love their concept and obviously, THEIR FOOD.
Cartel is all about street food. The twist is that they have incorporated several continent’s street food into one place: Asia, North America and South America (ok…Mexico isn’t exactly in south america, let’s not get too geographic now…)
I was excited for this concept! 3 in 1 how great is that! but…it was merely just false excitement…
Every Tuesday, Tacos are only 2$! You may need to eat quite a few before getting full though! I really don’t know what’s so special with these Tacos…
