Holidays are coming and it could be some stressful times for those having difficulties finding gifts! Don’t fret. What if I say I have the solution? Well, I do!

Le Magasin General du Vieux-Montreal is an absolute bliss for this time of year.

Situated on the high traffic street, de le Commune, at Old Montreal, Le Magasin General surprisingly could be easily missed. At first, it appears to be a gift shop, but it’s actually more than that! It has a bistro as well. The bistro is such a dainty place.

Despite the fact that the square footage of the bistro is really limited, they are able to fit in a grand piano! And there’s actually a live pianist playing the most soothing pieces. Any one fan of Champs Elysees? The decor also helps in contributing the charming factor.

Beside being able to unwind, you could actually shop at Le Magasin General while waiting for your food. Talk about hitting 2 birds with 1 stone! But, I actually don’t suggest doing that because you might get lost in time! The gift shops have some amazing items at very reasonable price. I was actually taken aback at the price! I expected most of the pricing to be double. My assumption is purely based on the location of the store.

The store is perfect if you are searching some unique and cute products for a female counterpart. Some of the inventory includes stationery, home decor, dinnerware, accessories and many others.

I highly suggest this cozy place for a date, where you could have some long discussion and then end the date with a little cute gift!

As the menu goes, it is simple yet effective. Everything we had was good good good. It just fits the ambiance perfectly.
