Le Painnamou: Is it Bingsoo or Bingsu?

Le Painnamou: Is it Bingsoo or Bingsu?

I know I know…weather hasn’t been great lately. But a shaved ice dessert from Le Painnamou can light up anyone’s day!

Le Painnamou is a small Korean cafe and pastry shop where they serve fresh baked goods and most notably bingsoo, or Korean shaved ice dessert.

The green tea shaved ice dessert was delightful! The ratio of the green tea drizzle was just perfect. Every scoop, I was able to taste the green tea without being overpowering. The mochi was a nice touch to the dessert. If only I could have one in every scoop! It is my first time to taste a shaved ice dessert where the ice is finely cut into tiny slices instead of tiny cubes. Because of its texture, it melted seamlessly at the touch of the tongue. The only complaint I would have is the pricing could be 1$ cheaper. Because in the end, the content is 90% ice. But hey, if I have to choose between paying at that set price or having no bingsoo, I would definitely choose for paying that price.

We also tried the sweet potato cake. I was dreaming of something fantastic. But it was plainly too ordinary. Not that it was not good, but it did not bring out anything interesting.

Since this visit, I thought of Painnamou’s shaved ice dessert at least once everyday! I really can’t wait to go back and have one all by myself!
