For my birthday celebration, Mr.Butter brought me to Marche 27 , a much awaited destination in my wishlist.
Instead of going for the typical tasting menu,we opted for what we really wanted to try because greedy old me thought 50gr for 5 flavors wasn’t enough especially if I have to share it! Soon enough, I realized we ordered more than what our stomach can take!
My first choice was a 100gr fresca scallops. It was actually the least preferred tartare in our order. Not that it wasn’t good, it was good, but it did not stand out as much as the others. I need to note that the dill was rather strong and I could not taste the jalapeno at all. Maybe fresca was more meant for a meat that has a stronger flavor, but then I thought a hint of dill and jalapeno could bring something interesting in the scallops. Sadly, it wasn’t what I thought it would be.
My second choice was a 150gr indian tuna. This has to be the best one. The curry powder was marvelous! It was so unique and unexpected for a tartare. I really felt I was eating indian food in an Indian restaurant.
Mr.Butter first choice was a 100 gr french duck. It was typical way to make tartare. Very good and safe choice.
His second choice was a 150 gr spicy beef. This has to be my second favorite tartare of the evening. I loved how they amped out the spiciness with real chili!
On the sides, Mr.Butter had the normal fries while I had the matchsticks fries. Both equally good.
I had a wonderful diner at Marche 27. Everything was so fresh. I thought I would have enough tartare for 3 months…but the next day, I was craving for more Marche 27! It was that delicious! I would like to note that our order was a bit too much for both of us. It would have been better if we had 200 gr each in total, instead of 250 gr each.

Although I really like Les Givres, I have to say Kem CoBa overtook its place! I have to thank my good friend, Connie for talking about this place!
I originally planned to try Kem CoBa this summer…but I guess I sitll made it, on the last day of summer!! I regretted not going earlier! Waiting line was long but was worth every seconds!
I had the Masala Chai and Orange (something). Masala Chai is unforgettable. A must order!! The ice cream is incredibly smooth. Every scoop was heavenly… I haven’t tasted ice cream like this in a while that gives me this kind of sensation!
Mr.Butter got obviously, Salted Butter and Chocolate. Salted Butter was surprisingly plesant. Just a hint a saltiness. Not overwhelming with butter flavor at all. It is well mastered! The chocolate is crazy. I felt like I was eating a very rich dark chocolate that just immediately melts on my tongue.
The owners were the ones serving ice cream, and they were so busy! Yet that did not impact on the quality of the service. Efficient and very friendly!
If I hadn’t make it clear it, I LOVE Kem CoBa.

To unwind, sweet Mr. Butter took me to Cacao 70. We still had to settle if Cacao 70 makes good waffles. Last visit, we had their unique waffles in Cacao 70’s style, which are crunchier. We didn’t like it.
This time, without mistakes, we ordered the original waffles. The Black and White Waffle.
They are perfect! Everything I was hoping for! Crunchy enough in the exterior but soft in the interior! You might want put the waffles aside to prevent the ice cream softens the waffle’s texture! I would say these waffles are just as good as Breakfast Club’s!
Something to be expected, the chocolate can be overwhelming! Which dish in Cacao 70 isn’t?

I’ve used Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 Age-defense moisturizer with White Tea (Omg, why such a long name) for this summer. My fondness for this moisturizer grew day by day!
Pro:
– SPF 25: Perfect for summer when you are not staying outside more than an hour.
– Kept my skin moisturized all day long (I tend to have dry skin)
– Tea fragrance (may be a downside for some)
– A little goes a long way
Con:
– Feels greasy on the touch but will eventually set nicely on the skin
– Broke me out when I don’t cleanse well enough. When I used the right product to cleanse, no breakout!
Overall thought:
Nice to have it, but isn’t a must have. If you have a good moisturizer already, no need to purchase this one.

Super late feedback on Omnivore Montreal’s 2013 Soiree!
Overall, the experience was very pleasant. The DJ was excellent. The food was nice. It was interesting to see the chef making the dishes right in front of your face; some were super delicate. I was also able to taste from some local restaurant and as well, restaurant from overseas!
My only complaint is that I hated the fact that we were simply a mob of food tasters rushing from one table to another. I understand why we had to rush because some tables ran out of food very quickly. So, instead of communicating and exchanging with the restaurant members, we simply couldn’t wait that they prepared the food quicker so we could rush to the next table. Sometimes, before the chef could finish the dish, people would have taken them away already…
Here are the precious gems that I was able to try
**Little note: I wouldn’t try to identify the restaurant name behind each dish as I think some tables were serving different dish than the one presented from the menu**
