Dim sum is my last choice of food that I would go for in Montreal. There isn’t any good one. I would go simply with family friends or when I crave for that nostalgic food.
With Le Cristal Chinois, the scene of dim sum has changed a bit. More surprises! More choices and dishes that I have never seen before. And what’s better? They actually taste good. But…don’t expect the price to be the same as other Dim Sum restaurants…it’s pricier than what we are used to pay for dim sum (but still very reasonable for restaurant in general).

I purchased an online coupon for Bistro Le Republique. I checked their menu and it offered so many varieties. So i asked, why not?
The Nachos. The cheese was not melty enough – easily hardened after a while…
Sweet potatoes fries. If only they were crispier! The mayonnaise was yellow tinted. Why? Curry. But really, there was only a faint of curry flavor. I think it would be much more interesting if it tasted a bit more.
The Burger – I do not remember which burger is that.
Pasta with capers, smoke salmon. It was way too salty. I blame for the excessive quantity of capers they had given in the dish.
Although the portions were very generous and the pricing was more than reasonable, the food had room for improvement.

No kidding, this place is crowded! Even at 1:45 pm, I see the people coming in. I don’t blame them; Olive et Gourmando really serves simple yet delicious sandwiches/salads/pastries!
Although slightly overpriced, I am so satisfied with the whole experience! Definitely will come back!
This place is not for you need constant attention from the staff – they are dressed so casually that you would mistake them for customers!
This salad was greaaaaat!!! Light and fresh flavor. Perfect for SUMMER! My friend said he reminded him of what his mom makes for salad – cambodian background.
This is called Cubain. I loooooved it! I was afraid I wouldn’t be full, but it was the perfect size! This is the panini that won my heart. It was just impeccable. The bread was not too hard nor was it soggy. The cheese was not overbearing. It wasn’t overly heavy either. Just the perfect balance.
This is a velvet cupcake made with beets. It does not really taste like a velvet cupcake. More like a more hardened and slightly dark chocolate flavored cupcake. Really cannot compare with the salad and the panini I had. I do not recommend it.
This spot is really perfect for pre-summer. When there is still a little breeze coming in from the window. I felt like I was in vacation while eating. A little trip to the Old Port makes me feel like I’m in vacation?! I should go more often! Quite a bargain I say, to pay the price of a meal instead a few hundred dollars for a trip!

Il Focolaio offers so many kinds of pizza! It’s so hard to choose one when you are indecisive like me! There were so many kinds that I was curious to try – I ended up with one with prosciutto and another one with artichoke.
They are delicious pizza! However, if you love lots of cheese on your pizza, you would have to choose Como.
